Body, design and equipment

The NAMI Burn-E, a.k.a. Viper, is a smart electric scooter made with passion and with an emphasis on the highest possible quality and safety. The scooter is set in a single-piece, hand-welded frame made of 6082 aerospace aluminum that excels in extreme strength. The steering column, which is usually a weak point of many competing scooters, is made of carbon fiber and can withstand a load of up to 400 kg! The folding mechanism was completely redesigned, being made of tough steel of 304 designation, its peculiarity being the conical shape. Also worth noting is the smart display allowing setting a custom ride mode and separate setting of parameters for each control unit. The control units have built-in overheating protection, which means that the risk of them getting burnt is a thing of the past. You can activate it and increase or decrease your speed by simply pressing your thumb. The quality-made smart electrical wiring with quick-disconnect connectors simplifies maintenance and facilitates any repairs. Moreover, the scooter is highly waterproof, so even riding it in the rain will not be a poblem. The manufacturer thought not only of the high manufacturing quality of the machine, but also of its design. Therefore, to ensure a more luxurious look, certain stainless-steel parts got polished to a high gloss. Inserted into the bowels of the deck is a high-quality battery featuring Panasonic cells connected by strips made of copper-nickel alloy. This ensures maximum protection of the battery, as well as its high performance. Although the scooter comes with a very robust structure and a huge battery, its total weight remains comparable to or lower than the competing machines of the same class.

The Viper is unique in that the prototype scooter has undergone many stress tests, such as safety, quality and performance checks. It successfully passed all these tests. People at NAMI have manufactured a scooter that provides customers with first-class safety and unique uncompromising quality. That is why they equipped it with 11-inch tubeless tires and 165 mm adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers that provide users with excellent riding stability and comfort. Given its huge power and high speeds that the scooter is capable of achieving, the Viper comes with two fully hydraulic Nutt brakes with 160 mm discs that give you strong and easily adjustable braking force when braking. Combined with electronic regenerative brake, you can rest assured that you will always brake to a stop safely from any speed. This brake will also return some of the energy back to your battery. Another important safety feature is the electronic ABS that prevents wheel locking when braking heavily. Proper rider safety cannot be maintained without adequate lighting, to which NAMI paid particular attention when designing the Viper model. It equipped this scooter with a lighting system capable of providing a 2000-lumen output. The built-in turn signals were incorporated as well, thanks to which a rider can easily let others know when s/he wants to change the direction of travel. With this kind of equipment, you do not have to worry about riding at night or think about buying additional lights for your scooter. The less experienced riders can reduce the Viper's extreme power by switching off the front engine using a button or by selecting a lower gear on the scooter's display. The NAMI likewise thought about practical design of both fenders that make sure you do not have to worry about riding in bad weather. Looking at the performance specs, one may wonder whether it is still possible to call it a scooter or rather a hypersonic weapon. The performance and range feel like a dream and the adrenaline enthusiasts surely have something to look forward to! The two motors providing 1500 W output each and reaching a total peak output of up to 8400 W provide genuinely extreme power that is not for everyone. You will climb every slope and, if needed, you will even be able to accelerate at any time while climbing. It is simply a rocket on wheels that can't be stopped. The Viper is equipped with a huge 72 V, 32 Ah battery that will take you very far indeed. Under ideal conditions, the Viper promises a range of up to 120 km, which is quite a huge distance. A range like that will give you the freedom to ride without having to worry about where to recharge your battery. However, should that not be enough for you, you will find two 2.8 A fast chargers supplied as a standard, which will allow you to quickly charge your battery in a very short time. The smart BMS (Battery Management System) will take care of proper management of individual segments comprising the battery pack. The two charging ports located in the front section of the step-on deck surface are equipped by default with protective caps preventing dirt from entering inside. The battery does not suffer from any undesirable memory effect, which is why it will last many years, subject to proper charging and maintenance! The two control units are 50A certified and, under ideal conditions, they allow you to accelerate the Viper to a top speed of 100 km/h (after unlocking). And that is really something.

Use and practicality

Given its solid structure and unbelievable performance, this is a very versatile scooter aimed mostly at adrenaline enthusiasts. Thanks to its 2x2 drive, the Viper can handle terrain and even a very steep climb. However, it will feel best on the road. With its 11-inch and 90 mm wide tubeless tires, the Viper will provide you with excellent comfort, traction and safety. The tubeless design significantly reduces the risk of getting a flat tire and allows easy repair in the event of tire damage. You will love the very comfortable chassis, which you will be able to use both on cobblestones and on field roads thanks to its adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers. Despite the scooter’s versatility, its weight of about 47 kg may be a limiting factor for some riders as it is not that easy to carry this scooter or load it into a car trunk. Likewise, the scooter’s performance and robust design have resulted in poorer compactness. With its size, it still fits inside the trunk of a normal car, but do not expect much space left in it. However, this kind of a machine does not think too much about being compact and rather targets real "gourmets" who know how to truly enjoy its capabilities.

About the brand

What does NAMI actually mean? It means New Age Mobility Innovation. These four words summarize the NAMI's ambitions: to design, develop and produce state-of-the-art electric scooters. The NAMI is a personal project by Michael Sha, a former chief designer of electric scooters at Kaabo, a company manufacturing electric scooters, who wishes to change the electric scooter market. According to him, the market mostly lacks innovation and quality control. That is why Michael Sha designed and manufactured his first electric scooter called Burn-E (Viper) in collaboration with an excellent Chinese industrial designer. Despite being a complete newcomer to the world of electromobility, the collaborating designer was able to transform Michael Sha's ideas into reality precisely as imagined by him. The fact that the Viper started to be manufactured from scratch in a small factory and was almost fully assembled by hand is certainly a unique and unmatched act of its kind.
