Design, body and equipment

It comes with clean modern design that captivates people at first sight. The Achilleus features a sophisticated and spacious deck, 11-inch wide tires, LED backlighting on the sides of the deck sides and the steering column, as well as on the front and rear wheel arms. As is the tradition, the electrical wiring is hidden inside the scooter body to protect it from elements. The frame and handlebars are made of a quality mixture consisting of a special wrought aluminum alloy and ultralight carbon fibers. The wheel shafts are made of SCM440 – a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel with carbon admixture. Premium materials and high-precision workmanship give this scooter the rigidity appreciated by all riders. You can buy the Achilleus model in black, yellow or red color finish. However, it is the traditional black that suits it best. The cooler located in the lower part of the scooter's body is an excellent addition, dissipating heat and preventing any overheating that might result in damage to control units. Thanks to the improved folding mechanism, which debuted in the Dualtron Storm model, the Dualtron Achilleus allows folding down the steering rod and easy scooter transport. You can even fold the handlebars, which makes the scooter more compact and allows loading it into a trunk of a regular car without problems. The Dualtron Achilleus is equipped with a large and easy-to-read EYE display manufactured in-house by Minimotors. The display shows all vital information, such as speed, current gear, daily kilometers travelled (TRIP), total kilometers travelled (ODO) and the current battery charge level. Thanks to its high brightness setting, the display stays legible even in adverse weather conditions. The acceleration lever is controlled by index finger and it can be also used to operate cruise control. You can connect the display to a fingerprint reader, so that it is only you who can unlock your scooter. Unlike the previous first-generation Thunder model, the Achilleus features a new light ramp at the back, which also serves as a footrest. It makes your ride safer and more comfortable.

Riding safety and quality

The Dualtron Achilleus scooter boasts a high-quality suspension system offering optimal stability and comfort, especially when riding over obstacles. It has a front and rear suspension fitted with rubber cartridges that easily absorb uneven surfaces, making your riding experience smooth. The suspension stiffness is adjustable based on your preference by changing the wheel arm angle between three different positions – high, medium or low. Should not even these settings satisfy your needs, you can choose from among five cartridges with different elastomer stiffness. This suspension type requires zero maintenance and excels in high reliability. Achilleus is easy to control thanks to its light construction and short turning radius. To improve their riding stability, the riders may purchase a steering damper as an optional accessory. The spacious deck featuring a special footrest makes sure that the rider feels best while riding. The deck is fitted with a sandpaper coating, preventing the feet from slipping. The handlebar grips are rubberized and ergonomically shaped, which means they support rider's wrists in the most comfortable position.

Safety

In addition to its stable and rigid body, the Dualtron Achilleus features a clever lighting system enhancing your safety, especially in low visibility. It is equipped with adjustable LED lighting on the sides of the deck, on the steering column and on wheel arms both at the front and rear. This lighting system comes with a remote control that allows setting the lights, turn them off or play with colors. The scooter also features front white and rear orange emergency LED lights positioned in the deck, while the red tail lights and brake light are recessed into the rear footrest. The Dualtron Achilleus scooter has a dynamic braking system. It is fitted with a front and rear hydraulic Zoom brake complemented with the electric braking system E-ABS that significantly increases braking power. The electric braking system with E-ABS is not a common feature in electric scooters. It is especially advantageous when riding off the road or on slippery roads. Combined with E-ABS, the hydraulic brakes provide greater efficiency resulting in improved safety as they prevent skidding when the rider resorts to emergency braking. The Achilleus is fitted with massive, 11-inch tubeless tires that utilize "never flat" technology ensuring safe and comfortable riding. This technology reduces the risk of tire punctures and leaking air as tires are filled with a special substance that immediately heals the hole when a tire gets punctured. The so-called “kick-start” feature preventing any unwanted start up contributes to enhanced safety. Should you initially experience problems with taming the power of this scooter, you can reduce the performance by selecting a lower gear and enjoy the scooter's full power later when you feel comfortable. Please remember that traffic regulations must be followed on public roads. So, make sure you are not speeding and stay considerate to other road users.

Power and range

With its fantastic design, performance and efficiency, the Dualtron Achilleus is one of the best electric scooters in its category. It is equipped with two brushless electric motors providing a maximum peak power of up to 4648 W. The motors are controlled by two controllers (35A each). The scooter has unrivaled acceleration and, based on real-world tests, it reaches the speed of 60 km/h in less than 9 seconds. Moreover, it can handle hilly terrain with inclinations of up to 39 degrees at the maximum load of up to 120 kg. Under ideal weather conditions and with a fully charged battery, the scooter is capable of reaching the top speed of 80 km/h on a flat surface with a rider weighing 75 kg, making it one of the fastest scooters in its category. The Dualtron Achilleus is equipped with a powerful 60V 35Ah lithium-ion battery of 2100 Wh capacity that provides an impressive range of up to 120 km on a single charge (subject to ideal conditions). The lithium-ion battery is made by LG Electronics. It takes 4-20 hours to fully charge it, depending on charging method. The charging time with a fully discharged battery is 20 hours when standard 1.75 A charger is used. With two standard 1.75 A chargers, the charging time is cut to half, i.e., approx. 10 hours and when the fast 6.5 A charger is connected, the charging takes about 5.3 hours. The fast charger combined with standard charger reduces charging time further to about 4 hours.

Use and practicality

Thanks to its impressive acceleration and range, this is an ideal means of transport not only for commuters looking for a stylish and practical alternative of getting to work or school from home but also for people loving to go on trips and looking for some excitement. The powerful torque delivered by the Dualtron Achilleus provides riders with fantastic riding experience and allows them to maintain high speeds without losing performance. You will love the very comfortable chassis, which you will be able to use both on cobblestones in a city and on field roads. The scooter can be quickly folded into more compact dimensions 125 x 27.5 x 56 cm (L x W x H) in a matter of few seconds. All you have to do is to fold the handlebars, loosen the quick-release levers, lift the locking slider and then fold the steering column towards the deck. However, carrying and loading this scooter into a car may be more difficult for some riders, given the fact that the scooters weights about 40 kg. Also keep in mind that the Achilleus does not come with official IP certification, meaning you should avoid rain and water.

It is fast, it can overcome steep climbs, it handles easy terrain and thanks to two powerful brushless electric motors it can transport heavy riders. The scooter will provide you with great riding experience thanks to its spacious deck, 11-inch ultra-wide tires and a powerful double suspension system. Stronger than usual performance predestines this scooter to be used by those who prefer powerful machines and are able to tame them. The scooter meets the paper specs declared by the manufacturer, offering practical and modern design while being very safe to ride. You can count on it in all situations. You will not get bored by it, not even after many years of use. Riding it will always be an incredible experience. However, we regret the absence of IP certification. Therefore, you should better forget riding in the rain or through puddles. Also, Minimotors should improve their Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone app.

About the brand

The Minimotors is known globally as one of the best and most reliable manufacturers of electric scooters. It was established in 1999 in Pusan (Busan) in South Korea. Shortly after its establishment, the company became famous for its mass-produced electric motors. In 2010, it initiated the development and manufacturing of electric scooters as an excellent personal mobility alternative to single-track petrol-engine vehicles. In the same year, it unveiled its Speedway electric scooter series on the market.
